Joua and Kou’s farm is a real family operation; all five kids are involved in planting, harvesting and preparing produce for sale, and Joua’s aunt are also in the business. They lease a modest acreage in Richmond, on which their all-seasons market garden produces a stunning array of mixed produce – from greens and root veg in the winter to zucchini and corn in the summer. Richmond Farm’s produce appears regularly at Farm Gate Market, along with other markets and retail outlets.
