This week’s $20, $30 and $40 boxes feature a lucky dip of “fingerling” potato varieties – so-called because of their elongated shape. These varieties tend to be on the waxy end of the potato spectrum, so can be boiled happily without falling apart, but are quite versatile and also flavoursome, suitable for roasting as wedges, potato salad, thinly sliced in a gratin, or even just fried as rounds.
$30 and $40 include not one but two bunches of Dendra Gardens Dutch carrots – perfect for building a dish around – and there’s plenty of leafy greens for light meals too, with spinach and rocket from Houston’s Farm, choy sum, kale and tatsoi from Richmond Farm, and baby cos lettuce from Southern Fields.
