This week we’ll be placing our first order with Hillwood Berries – we’ve been looking for a longer season producer of raspberries for some time, and have finally found one! Hillwood grow raspberries and blackberries about 20 minutes up the Tamar from Launceston for Driscolls using hydroponic technology and tunnels which means that they have berries from around October to May.
We’ll also be ordering with Hills Hydroponics, so we’ll have a range of herbs available for order, and Southern Fields, which means iceberg and cos lettuce.
I’ll be heading out to a home-grower tomorrow to pick some lemons – not exactly sure how many there will be, so first in first served.
In addition to the usual suspects, John’s special potato varieties this week are kipfler and burgundy blush.
We were hoping for corn and wombok this week – corn is still dragging its feet but we should be good for next week, but unfortunately wombok is still a way off due to some problems with the first couple of plantings.
