A fairly quiet week from us this week – we’ll be ordering from Dendra Market Gardens, Southern Fields, Old School Farm and probably Hills Hydroponics (although this is yet to be confirmed), so that means mostly bunched roots and leafies, salad greens, cauliflower and cabbage.
Avocados are also available, as are both premium truss ($31 this week) and sauce tomatoes from Cracknells, and pumpkin and brown onions are back in stock again this week, along with 10kg bags of Dutch Cream and Mai-flower potatoes.
Our potato grower John has supplied us with his crop of home-grown Democrat apples – an old Tasmanian variety good for cooking; we have 3 6kg trays of premium fruit ($12) and a 15kg box of seconds (minor blemishes and possibly the odd bit of coddling moth here and there that would require trimming) for $20.
