All-Tasmanian wholesale offers – 7th March

This week we’ll be ordering pears – we source our pears from O E Hansen & Sons in Nubeena and this week both packham and beurre bosc varieties are available, starting at $3.5/2kg bag. We generally order pears every few weeks and at this time of the season they’ll keep extremely well in cool-store so feel free to stock up!

Dendra Market Gardens have started harvesting their fennel crop with baby fennel – these are sold at four to a bunch and we were pretty chuffed with these when they came in last week! Maurice says that fennel should go through into early winter, and that celery should be available from about July. Larger bulbs will become available in the next few weeks.

Elphin Grove have baby corn ready to go this week in addition to the regular sweet corn and celeriac – this was recently featured on the menu for the Tasmanian Tourism Awards as pictured.

Avoland have let us know that due to the large crop this season fresh picked avos should be available in May, so there’s still plenty of time to include these on your menu!

This week we also have new season 10kg kennebec bags from Moore’s Farm fresh – $13.
