This week’s list is a little limited due to a range of seasonal availability and logistics issues but there’s still plenty of great stuff to be had!
Hills Hydroponics have a full range of herbs available – basil, mint, thyme, coriander and some lovely mint at the moment, plus watercress should also be available. Dendra Market gardens this week can supply carrots and radishes, silverbeet and buk choy, and spring onions. We’ll also have cherry tomatoes from Brandsema again, and the usual cauliflower and cos lettuce hearts from Southern Fields. York Town Organics definitely have tatsoi available this week (by the kg or by the 100gish retail pack) – just waiting to hear back about what else is on offer.
Potatoes aren’t on the list at this stage but if you’re after something in particular let me know and I’ll see what I can do! Nicky’s Russets are definitely available at $12/10kg. Cumquats and lemons are a maybe – let me know if you want them and I’ll see if I can get them.
Coaldale walnuts and Huon Hazelnuts are now finished for the season unfortunately. Asparagus should begin to be available from next week – Newry farm will also have some excellent rhubarb available too. New season’s pink eyes are probably a week or two away, and fresh spring garlic is a possibility but the price and availability is still a bit up in the air.
