This week we’ve got some rather special green cauliflowers from Grown for Taste available – $2 for small ones or $3 for larger ones. Supply is limited so first in first served. Regular white cauliflowers have come down in price for the moment – now $2.5, but this may be short-lived. We’re also expecting to get some delicious new-season pears up from O&E Hansen and Sons in Nubeena – we generally order the Winter Cole pears in 2kg bags which are sweet, crisp and have a complex flavour well beyond straight sugar, but we may be able to get other varieties in on request.
I’ll be doing our fortnightly visit to our potato grower on Wednesday – John has a great variety of potatoes available at the moment, if you’d like to know more about any of the listed varieties please let me know. We also have a few bags of Moore’s Scottsdale Kennebecs at the great price of $11/10kg – get in quick on these and the red onions as it’ll be a couple of weeks until we order again.
We’ll be ordering herbs down from Hills Hydroponics this week – their basil is especially good value at $2.9. Supply on other lines may be limited but we’ll do our best.
We’ve managed to organise direct supply from the largest parsnip grower in the state, so next week we’ll be able to offer small premium grade parsnips (perfect for roasting) for $48/10kg, and large seconds for $42/20kg. We’ll only order these every few weeks so they’re a good thing to stock up on when available.
Please note, orders later than Tuesday lunchtime may not be possible to fill.
