This week Richmond Farm have lovely radishes in purple, red and white, along with great fennel, herbs (parsley and coriander in generous bunches) and Asian greens. Certified organic apples from Duggan Brand are available in a whole range of varieties from eating to cooking, and we’ll also be ordering with Brandsema so cherry tomatoes and cucumbers are available.
New season nuts are in – walnuts from Coaldale Walnuts are $9.2/kg and we should also have an order from Huon Hazelnuts coming in this week ($11/kg). Nuts are supplied in-shell, so will keep for up to a year – if you’ve got room to stock up, we may be able to do you a better deal on a bulk purchase. We’re also ordering with Kindred Organics shortly, so if you’re keen to stock up on some certified organic Tassie grains (spelt, oats, quinoa) or flour (buckwheat, spelt) at great prices please let us know.
Corn is available this week, maybe next week, but definitely not after that – as it’s supplied in the husk it can be simply frozen as is so feel free to stock up for the freezer. Once corn finishes, celeriac – also from Elphin Grove – will only be available some weeks; it does store very well in chilled conditions though, so when available over the winter it’s worth getting a few week’s worth.
