Orders for our all-Tasmanian fruit and veg boxes are now open for January! To place an order, just let us know by email what box type and optional add-ons you’d like on each of the following dates. If you’re ordering for the first time or you’re changing your delivery/pick-up status you’ll need to specify which of these two options you’d prefer when ordering. New customers are also welcome to order a single box to try the service first, and as an added incentive, delivery (normally $5 extra) is free with your first box. Delivery is available in a wide range of areas, and we also offer third-party delivery to locations in the Huon and the east coast.
19th January- 26th January
January is really all about fruit… whether it’s the kind you put in your fruit salad, or the type that wisdom suggests is better eaten as a vegetable; tomatoes, avocados, eggplant and more. But a full range of delicious new season potatoes will also start to become available, along with plenty of delicious leafy greens and herbs perfect for summer salads.
We’ve been racking our brains over the break to figure out how best to hook you up with heaps of delicious Tassie fruit (and having to temporarily shop at the supermarket has really reminded us how much better it is than what comes in from interstate…); this year, in addition to our usual fruit supplement for $10 (generally around two items) which can be booked in like other optional add-ons, we’re also offering a stand-alone $25 fruit box every week with 4-6 fruit items*. We’ll also have at least one fruit item in most boxes, although the $20 and $25 boxes may only receive fruit some weeks. We’ll also be posting some bulk buy options for local fruit periodically if you want to stock up for the freezer or get preserving!
(*Please note that the fruit supplement and fruit box will come as is – no exclusions are applicable. As fruit will be sourced from a range of suppliers, the fruit supplement and fruit box are also not guaranteed organic or spray-free; we’ll do our best to source as much organic fruit as possible for inclusion in your regular box if you’re an organic box customer.)
Whilst it comes more into the savoury fruit category, the avocado is still a fruit – we’ll be offering avocados from Paul & Maria at Avoland as a weekly add-on for $8 per half kg while the season lasts; if you’re really keen, you can also take advantage of our wholesale price of $70 for a 5kg tray.
