Peel, core and cut about 8 BB apples into thick slices. Put them in a big pot with a little water, some cinnamon and a few pieces of lemon peel. Bring to a simmer and cook until soft but still holding form. Drain and place into a baking tin.
Crumble: mix up some oats, coconut, sunflower seeds, coarsely chopped BB walnuts and BB hazelnuts and a small amount of brown sugar. Pour a good thick layer of this on top of the apples and then spray with coconut oil and top with a few decent slices of butter.
Cook in a moderate hot oven for about 20 mins and finish off under the grill to get the crumb nice and toasted.
Serve with custard (or cream or ice cream or whatever takes your fancy). Enjoy by the fire on a cold winter’s evening
