This week we’re very excited to have Tasmanian grown tomatoes back on the menu! Brandsema cherry tomatoes will start this week – these can be ordered by the 250g punnet, tray of punnets or loose as a 2kg box – and truss tomatoes from Cracknells are only a couple of weeks away too. Capsicums and cucumbers will also be available in the near future; fingers crossed we’ll be able to source eggplants from Brandsema this year but that will depend upon the verdict from Biosecurity re Tasmanian’s fruit-fly status.
Cauliflowers from Southern Fields are on special this week – $22 for 10 – and we still have some of Nicky’s Nicolas left at the bargain price of $8/10kg. We have a full range of herbs available (basil, coriander, tarragon, mint, chives, thyme, rosemary).
Certified organic greens from York Town Organics are on offer again this week – either as 100-150g retail packs (depending upon the line) or 1kg catering packs – availability can vary but generally this includes salad mix, micro salad, rocket, tatsoi, baby kale and mizuna. If you’d like these please let us know today (Monday).
October should see fresh garlic and asparagus become available, and rhubarb should also start to become more reliable as the frosts finish up. New season pink eye potatoes will be available soon too, although prices will be high until at least November.
