Orders for our all-Tasmanian fruit and veg boxes are now open for July! To place an order, just let us know by email (firstname.lastname@example.org) what box type and optional add-ons you’d like on each of the following dates. If you’re ordering for the first time or you’re changing your delivery/pick-up status you’ll need to specify which of these two options you’d prefer when ordering. New customers are also welcome to order a single box to try the service first, and as an added incentive, delivery (normally $5 extra) is free with your first box. Delivery is available in a wide range of areas, and we also offer third-party delivery to locations in the Huon and the east coast (price on application).
July is peak winter – a whole range of root veg (carrots, potatoes, beets, swede, parsnip, turnips, celeriac) and pumpkin are plentiful, as are brassicas like cauliflower, cabbage and Brussels sprouts. Cured onions and garlic are still in excellent condition, along with mushrooms and leeks perfect for bringing body to hearty winter fare. Nuts bring a fresh crunch to hot winter dishes, and grains like oats, spelt and quinoa are comforting and filling. Apples & pears – along with rhubarb – provide sweet options, and whilst berries and stone-fruit are a memory of summer, they’re now available in our wide range of jams, which just like our boxes are full of local produce! If you’d prefer a sugar-free option, we can definitely recommend the Huon Valley Juice Company strawberry and apple juice, and the raspberry and blackcurrant dipped forager fruits freeze-dried apple wedges are also a delicious taste of summer.
July will be the last month we offer our organic boxes for a while, due to diminishing supply – we’re hoping to return to offering these again in October. In the mean-time, if you’ve been ordering the organic boxes, we’d welcome your feedback, particularly on what you’d like to see more of in them – as most of the produce in these boxes is grown by smaller-scale growers we’ve got a bit more capacity to influence what they choose to grow!
Crumpets will unfortunately continue to be unavailable for the time-being as Matt’s kitchen is being renovated and he’s been unable to find a viable commercial kitchen to continue production in. Manna Bakehouse’s bagels have been very popular so in addition to the plain bagels, we’re now also offering their jalapeno and cheese and their blueberry bagels, both $1.75. We’re also offering 1L casks of extra-virgin Coronea Grove olive oil for the great price of $32. Don’t forget our whole range of other bulk-buy options also listed on our website – you don’t need to order a box to buy these, and we can deliver these while we’re out and about on Fridays for the same delivery fee as a standard box. If there’s something you’d like a bulk order of that’s not listed, we’re happy to see what we can do to source it for you.
Please email email@example.com to order for July or for any enquiries, and we’ll get back to you on Saturday and Sunday after the weekly Thursday-Friday packing and delivering madness is over!
